Last week, we had a very special assembly as our children took part in the election for our new School Council.
The children who had applied to become School Councillors bravely came to the front of the assembly to read their letters, explaining why they wanted to become a School Councillor and why they felt they would be good at the role. ๐ฃ๏ธ๐
The rest of the school then had the opportunity to vote in their classrooms for this yearโs School Council. We talked about democracy, the importance of having a voice and how voting allows us to have a say in decisions that affect our school community. ๐ณ๏ธ
The votes were counted and we are delighted to have now announced our School Councillors for 2026/27! A huge well done to everyone who put themselves forward. It takes real courage to stand in front of your friends and share your ideas, and we are incredibly proud of you all. ๐
๐ We also celebrated the launch of our new Mental Health Champions team for 2026/27!๐
It has been wonderful to see so many children wanting to get involved and help make a difference to the wellbeing of others. Our goal this year is to build on the success of achieving our Mental Health Champions Gold Award and continue to develop the fantastic work our children are leading, while spreading our wellbeing message further into our wider school community. ๐ฑ
Our new Mental Health Champions have already had their first team meeting, where they decided on the different roles they would like to take on within the team. They have also wasted no time getting started and have already begun planning some exciting events and activities for the year ahead! ๐โจ
We are so excited to see what both our School Council and Mental Health Champions achieve this year. It is fantastic to see so many of our children stepping forward, sharing their ideas and wanting to make a positive difference to our school.
Well done, everyone! We are very proud of you all. ๐๐
