Supporting Every Child's Journey
Safeguarding Overview
At Paull Primary School, the safeguarding and welfare of every child is at the heart of all that we do. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive and nurturing environment where children feel secure, valued and able to thrive both academically and personally. Safeguarding in our school goes beyond policies and procedures—it is a shared responsibility embraced by all staff, governors, and visitors, ensuring that every child is protected from harm and supported in their wellbeing. We follow robust safeguarding practices in line with national guidance, including safer recruitment, regular staff training, and clear reporting systems, so that any concerns are identified and acted upon swiftly and effectively. Our approach to child welfare also includes promoting positive mental health, encouraging strong relationships, and working closely with parents, carers and external agencies to provide the best possible support for each child. Through a culture of vigilance, care and openness, we aim to ensure that every child at Paull Primary feels safe, respected and ready to learn.

Safeguarding Team
At Paull Primary School, safeguarding is a shared responsibility led by a dedicated team of trained staff who work together to ensure every child is safe, supported and able to thrive. Having a safeguarding team means that there is always experienced guidance available, clear oversight of any concerns, and a consistent approach to protecting children’s welfare across the school.
Each member of the team plays a vital role, from identifying early signs of concern to taking appropriate action and working with external agencies when needed.
It is important for parents, carers and visitors to know who these key safeguarding staff are, so that any worries—no matter how small—can be reported quickly and confidently.
By making this information clear and accessible, we ensure that everyone in our school community knows exactly who to contact and how to raise a safeguarding concern, helping us to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for all.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
Year 6 Get Stuck In with Our Wellbeing Garden 🌱
Today marked an exciting first step for our Year 6 children as they began work on our new wellbeing garden. There is lots to be done, and we are already looking forward to seeing how their hard work and ideas transform the space over time.
The children got straight to work this morning, rolling up their sleeves to weed the area, remove the old weed control fabric and carefully sort and store any resources that can be reused. They showed fantastic teamwork, resilience and care for their environment throughout the session.
Celebrating Our Wellbeing Champions 🌟
We are incredibly proud to share that our team of 10 Wellbeing Champions from across Key Stage 2 have been featured in this week’s Holderness Gazette 🎉
The article celebrates our school’s outstanding achievement in gaining the Silver Award for Mental Health and Wellbeing, recognising the hard work and dedication shown by both pupils and staff. In particular, it highlights our rapid progression to Silver in just one term—an impressive accomplishment that reflects the commitment of our Wellbeing Champions to supporting positive mental health across our school community.
Brew Monday at School ☕💙
On Monday morning, our school hosted Brew Monday, a positive alternative to Blue Monday, aimed at shifting mindsets around mental health and wellbeing. The event provided a welcoming space for our wellbeing champions to sit, chat, and enjoy a drink and biscuits with parents and visitors, encouraging open conversations and connection within our school community.
Class 2 Create Calm Jars in Mental Health Champions Lesson
Class 2 have been busy developing their emotional wellbeing skills this week by making their very own calm jars during their Mental Health Champions lesson. This activity was a big hit with the children, who enjoyed choosing colours, swirling glitter and watching the gentle movement inside their jars.
