Children’s Mental Health Week at Paull Primary School 💛

This week, Paull Primary School proudly marked Children’s Mental Health Week with a range of thoughtful and inspiring activities designed to help our children reflect on wellbeing, belonging and kindness.
🌟 Launching the Week: “This Is My Place”

Class 3 Art & Design – ‘Make My Voice Heard’ street art, symbolism and messages

In this ‘Street Art – Conveying a message’ unit, Class 3 covered a whole lot of arty ground!

Class 3 classifying plants🌳

As part of their science topic on classifying, class 3 used their knowledge and understanding of plants to classify them into 4 different groups. They used great team work skills and created some brilliant posters to reflect what they had found out. The children then included each groups characteristics of that plant on their posters. Well done class 3!

EYFS celebrate Chinese New Year

This week the children in EYFS have been discovering all about Chinese New Year. We have learnt all about what Zodiac animal we are and have completed a Chinese Zodiac Yoga session. We created a Chinese Dragon and performed a Dragon dance in the full school assembly on Friday morning. We have wrote our initials in the Chinese alphabet and most excitingly we made a Chinese feast and created lots of yummy dishes to try. This included a vegetarian Chow Mein. They all thought this was very tasty. The children got to test out their skills by using chop sticks. We completed the week by reading a very special story that one of our children brought in from home. They have had a wonderful week celebrating this very special occasion. Well done EYFS you have been marvellous!

Class 2 mummifying a class member!

As part of their history topic on the Egyptians class 2 learnt all about mummification. They had to write a set of instructions to explain how to mummify a body. They then became embalmers and mummified a class member. The embalmers had to make sure they prepared the body so it doesn’t decay by sprinkling salt on her, wrapping her in linen and then they made sure she had her belongings buried with her as well as the book of the dead, amulets and an ankh to get into the afterlife and to give her good luck. Well done class 2, you were brilliant embalmers!

Class 2 Mental Health Champions Lesson 🌟

Class 2 had a fantastic Mental Health Champions lesson today, packed with teamwork, problem-solving and lots of smiles!

The session began with a fun (and tricky!) team challenge. The children worked in partners or small groups, sitting back-to-back on the floor and linking together. Their mission was to help the whole group stand up without using their arms. There was plenty of laughter, encouragement and determination as the children experimented with different strategies and supported one another until they succeeded.

Class 3 having a debate!😀

This afternoon in their history lesson class 3 went back in time to pretend they were living in Ancient Athens.

Weekly Dinner Menu

We pride ourselves in supplying our children with excellent food. We feel that it is one of the most important parts of a child’s life – to eat properly.

Eating a healthy diet enables a child to live life to the full and gives them a better performance all round, specifically helping with their concentration levels – which in turn affects achievement.

So we encourage all of our children to have a school dinner and we are glad to have such a high uptake of school dinners at our school. Its good to know that our children are getting a well balanced and healthy meal.
